Cold Chain Services

All of our trailers in this Critical Care Division are validated for +2°c -
+8°c, +15°c - +25°c ambient service, -20°c. All of the trailers in this division are fully validated.

When Skelton truck Lines Ltd. was developing our Critical Care Division, we understood that we would need to implement a service plan that would ensure our clients that we understood the temperature sensitivity and high value of the products we are carrying. So we set out and built trailers that were equipped with state of the art temperature control and monitoring systems.

Critical Care Carrier Specifications:

• Each reefer unit operates an independent micro processor which allows us to monitor both the air temperature and functions of the trailer AND the temperature of the product itself. Should there be reefer malfunction the secondary reefer automatically activates to maintain temperature until any necessary repairs can be made.

• Electronic temperature data recording systems utilize a minimum of three temperature probes to electronically record temperature every 10 minutes

• Trailers are fitted with additional insulation in bulkheads and sidewalls. The specially designed dual insulated ribbed flooring system allows for increased airflow benefitting product integrity.

• All units are constructed with a barrier wall to maintain shipping temperatures during docking procedures. All Straight trucks and large trailer units undergo approximately 2 months of extensive retrofitting after we receive them.

• Monitoring and alarm equipment is installed and certified on all units
